Betty,
My sincere sympathy to you and the family of Mr. Perk. I had the privilege of working with Charlie for many years and to the surprise of many, I will remember his sense of humor and wit which made our task fun. His dedication to education was always known. His warm appreciative side was sometimes hidden, but not to his friends. You trained him well.
Love to you, the Queen of Virginia Beach Schools.

What a beautiful service was held this morning for Mr. Perkinson! The music was uplifting, and the memories shared by Mr. Perkinson's son-in-law Kenneth Harvey were a wonderful tribute to a man admired by all who knew him. Though I never had the pleasure of working directly for Mr. Perkinson, my wife and I so very much enjoyed our years of working with his beloved Betty during our time together at Green Run High School. The world--and in particular, the world of education--has lost one of its finest gentlemen ever. Debbie and I send our deepest sympathies and love to the family Mr. Perkinson so lovingly spoke of whenever he had the chance. He represented all that is the best in leadership, mentorship, and friendship, and Mr. Perkinson will be missed in the world.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Perkinson's passing. Mr. Perkinson hired me for my first teaching job at Great Neck Middle in 1988. He was a wonderful person to work for and a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

I enjoyed having Mr. Perkinson as my principal while teaching at Great Neck Middle School. He expected high standards of his staff, students and himself. It was a priviledge to have the opportunity to work with him for several years. I am sad to hear of his passing.

I had the privilege of working with Charlie Perkinson several years ago. He was a gentleman in all respects and an outstanding administrator in the field of public education. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they grieve the loss of one so dear. May God be them.

"Charlie" was a superb school administrator and leader. He held high expectations for himself and for those with whom he worked and taught. Some thought him a bit gruff at times, but those that knew him well found a sensitive, caring man dedicated to his students, teachers, his work and his school. He mentored many Virginia Beach administrators over the years. Through them his legacy of dedication, duty, and integrity has positively influenced many thousands of students and teachers. "Charlie" will be missed greatly and fondly remembered.
I extend my sincerest condolences to Betty and her daughters.

There are many great memories of this fine man; lots of laughs when I recall his time at Plaza Middle School. His strict devotion to duty, his adherence to rules, and, beneath that strict posterior, a kind and loving father, leader and friend. May good memories sustain each of you, his family, in the days to come. Marge
