Thomas D. Gibbs, 45, husband of Donna T. Gibbs and son of Mrs. Emma Satterthwaite Gibbs and the late John H. Gibbs, died at a local hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. He resided in the 2400 block of West Bugle Drive, Chesapeake.

A native of Portsmouth, VA, he was a 1977 graduate of Deep Creek High School and a member of Great Bridge Demolay. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a retired Welder.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Rachel Gibbs and Ginny Gibbs, both of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters, Christine Williams, of Chesapeake, VA, and Ann Williams and her husband, Phillip of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Robert Gibbs, of Moyock, NC; a grandson, Kaleb Gibbs; three nephews; two nieces; and a great-niece.

A graveside service will be conducted in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Potter. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
